Dear Friends and Neighbors,

It is with great excitement and a strong commitment to our community that I serve on the Clear Creek Board of County Commissioners.

I look forward to working with you to achieve our vision for Clear Creek County.  Together, we can bring about economic opportunity, responsible and sustainable growth, and a transportation solution that enhances our community and quality of life.

Tim Mauck

Dear Democratic Party Leader:

My name is Tim Mauck and I am asking you to support me in my candidacy for Colorado Democratic Party Chair.

On November 8, 2016, we entered a new era in American politics. Although we carried Colorado, the numbers should give us pause. We have work to do to regain the national reins of power and to hold and strengthen them in Colorado. We must give voice to everyday Americans’ feelings of disenfranchisement. I know that I can be that voice and the leader of the Colorado Democratic Party as, together, we build and strengthen our Party.

I graduated from Denver’s Manual High School in 1995 and earned my political science degree at Catholic University in Washington, D.C. After college, I served on Rep. Mark Udall’s staff and worked for his first campaign for the U.S. Senate in 2008. Today I live in Idaho Springs with my wife Jennifer and our black lab Susie, my copilot on innumerable outdoor expeditions. My roots, though, run deep in a working-class neighborhood of Denver. My mother Judy, a registered nurse, and my father Jim, who served as director of Catholic Charities for 33 years, still live near George Washington High School in the home where they raised my four siblings and me.  I have served as a former co-chair of the Clear Creek County Democrats, and am currently in my second term as a Clear Creek County commissioner, a position I have held since 2010.

I bleed Bronco orange and blue and am passionate about hunting and angling in Colorado’s backcountry.  I enjoy tinkering on my own vehicles and a night on the town in Denver.

My personal and professional background straddles rural and urban Colorado.  As a former staffer in Washington, DC, I have learned from the challenges of connecting with voters, and have been empowered as County Commissioner by the advantages of communicating the day-to-day impacts of local government to some of the very same constituents.

I am running for the Colorado Democratic Party Chair because my unique background is well suited to address the challenges our party faces at this time.  It is imperative we implement a new paradigm of communication to voters throughout Colorado, overcome the political rhetoric voters are tired of, and clearly delineate how our progressive values and policies improve the lives of all Coloradans.  Our next Chair must reach beyond our Democratic membership, re-attract and bring in voters aligned with our progressive values, and reconnect with our core constituencies in the working class.

Attached you will find my ambitious platform, which identifies strategic goals of laying the infrastructure to communicate Democratic values, expanding State Democratic Party interests into the most basic forms of local government, looking beyond voter polling to broaden candidate appeal, and encouraging vigorous interaction from state party leadership to all parts of the state.
I realize with just under six weeks to go before the election, I face a formidable task to meet and talk with as many Colorado Democrats as possible. I am not daunted. I’ve known hard work all my life, and I know what fighting against the odds is all about.  You can learn more about me at www.TimMauck.com, or feel free to contact me tim@timmauck.com or (720) 425-7840.

I am honored by your consideration and would be more so by your support.

For a stronger Colorado Democratic Party!
